Franciscan Health System's St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, which has been undergoing a $15.5 million renovation, has announced that its most recent addition — a new Garden Café and healing garden — now open to the public.
The new café has added more than 4,000 square feet of new space to the dining room, which can now accommodate 200 customers. The healing garden, which includes a water feature, curved pathways, benches and outdoor seating, was created by converting an existing parking lot.
“Our new café and healing garden are a great addition to our hospital and will help keep our employees, our patients and their families healthy, as well as support our healing environment, “said Kathy Bressler, president of St. Clare Hospital.
The café will feature a new made-to-order sandwich concept called Sliced Artisan Deli. Other new food offerings include fire-roasted flat bread pizza, roast chicken, baked mac and cheese and tossed-to-order salads.
“We designed our new menu to incorporate locally grown organic and sustainable products, “said Michelle Harris, St. Clare Food & Nutrition Services Director. “ We wanted to provide selections that not only taste good, but are good for you as well.”
