Thurston County’s South Puget Sound Community College is listed as #41 by College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings.
Drawing on data collected from Aspen Institute, the comparison to more than 1,600 community colleges is a substantial endorsement of the programs and value delivered by SPSCC faculty and administrators.
“We are fortunate to have faculty who put student learning above all else,” says Michelle Andreas, the college’s vice president of Instruction.
SPSCC was awarded this newest ranking based on academic quality, diversity and equity, and return on investment.
“We believe these 50 schools represent the best of what can be a wise decision for many prospective college students,” states the article.
SPSCC enrolls over 6,000 students each quarter and offers two campus locations, as well as online and hybrid classes. A recent study performed by Emsi revealed that this community college offers an annual return on investment for students at 15.4 percent and returns more money to government budgets than it costs.
Four other Washington community colleges are also included on this Top 50 list: Olympic in Bremerton #16, Walla Walla #25, Highline, Des Moines #42 and Renton Technical College #48.
