South Sound law firm Phillips Burgess has been ranked among the nation’s best law firms by U.S. News & World Report, with managing partner Heather Burgess named among its Best Lawyers in America.

The recently released 2018 report recognized the firm for professional excellence in environmental law and environmental litigation. It is the only South Sound law firm to be designated a “Tier 1” regional firm in the environmental litigation practice area.

According to U.S. News officials, law firms included in the 2018 Best Law Firms list are recognized for professional excellence “with persistently impressive ratings from clients and peers.”

Burgess, a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Washington School of Law, has been practicing law since 1998. Prior to establishing Phillips Burgess in 2012, she was affiliated with the law firms of Perkins Coie and Eisenhower Carlson.
