Washington state’s Employment Security Department has released November county unemployment statistics (not seasonally adjusted), with the South Sound seeing jobless rates up in four counties.
Pierce County saw its unemployment rate up just slightly, from 4.6 percent in October to 4.7 percent in November. A similar trend can be found month to month in Thurston, with the county seeing a 4.4 percent jobless rate, up from 4.3 percent in October.
Lewis and Mason Counties saw sharper upticks. Lewis County saw its unemployment rate increase four-tenths of a point from 5.5 percent in October to 5.9 percent in November, while Mason’s went up three-tenths points from 5.4 percent to 5.7 percent.
