Starting on Monday, Apr. 2, Sound Transit is inviting the public to get involved with its Tacoma Dome light rail extension project.
Three upcoming open houses will allow local residents to provide feedback about the proposed light rail route, the proposed stations, and any potential alternatives to or impacts of the Sound Transit 3 project. Citizens can also comment on the potential location for a new Operations and Maintenance Facility in the south corridor.
Tacoma – Tuesday, Apr. 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome Hotel
Federal Way – Wednesday, Apr. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Todd Beamer High School
Fife – Tuesday, Apr. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fife Community Center
Sound Transit staff will use the public feedback to help consider alternatives and to refine routes, station locations, and other details of the plan.
This portion of the ST3 project includes 9.7 miles of light rail from the Federal Way Transit Center to the Tacoma Dome featuring a new rail-only span across the Puyallup River. Four new stations will be built in South Federal Way, Fife, East Tacoma, and at the Tacoma Dome.
