Tacoma hospitalist organization Sound Physicians announced today an agreement to provide hospitalist services for a group of CHRISTUS Health hospitals in the southern United States.
CHRISTUS is a Catholic, not-for-profit health system with close to 350 services and facilities — including more than 60 hospitals and long-term care providers — in six U.S. states and Mexico. Per today's announcement, Sound Physicians will serve seven CHRISTUS sites in Texas and Louisiana, including CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline and CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South in Corpus Christi, Texas; CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-Westover Hills in San Antonio; and CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital and CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center in Louisiana.
“We are looking forward to partnering with CHRISTUS Health and increasing our strong regional presence in Texas while expanding our services to Louisiana,” said Robert Bessler, MD, CEO of Sound Physicians. “We are eager to bring our performance focus and physician leadership to these CHRISTUS Health hospitals.”
“CHRISTUS Health is excited to partner with Sound Physicians,” added Gene Woods, COO of CHRISTUS Health. “We are confident that their engaged hospitalists and evidence-based processes will deliver the highest quality of care to our patients.”
Sound Physicians will assume employment of the Louisiana-based hospital's employed hospitalists and recruit to build teams in its Texas hospitals. Sound Physicians will also introduce its SoundConnect workflow and communications platform and processes to the seven CHRISTUS facilities.
