Soloy Aviation Solutions has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to upgrade and modify six aircraft to aerial observation platforms.

Included in the observation platform equipment is the integration of a camera mount with the on-board surveillance camera. The aircraft’s camera mount will be mated to a L3 Wescam MX-10 camera. The DEA’s first aircraft is currently in the Olympia-based company’s shop and Soloy expects a six week rotation until the contract is fulfilled. In addition to five upgrades, another aircraft will be modified with a new tactical officer observation station and new L3 Wescam MX15HDi camera.
