The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Seattle District Office is now accepting nominations for its 2018 National Small Business Week Awards, including the annual Washington Small Business Person of the Year.
The office, which serves Washington and northern Idaho, gives nine awards, including Washington Small Business Person of the Year, Small Business Exporter of the Year and Family-Owned Small Business of the Year. Similar awards honor millennial entrepreneurs, veteran owned businesses and entrepreneurs who launch businesses after age 50.
The 2017 Small Business Person of the Year, Rozanne Garman, is president of Lacey’s RHD Enterprises, Inc., a minority- and woman-owned general contractor specializing in commercial, industrial and federal government construction.
“In addition to creating jobs, small business owners create a sense of community in our neighborhoods,” SBA Seattle District Director Kerrie Hurd said. “Small Business Week awards are an opportunity to recognize and honor small business owners and champions for their contributions.”
Preliminary nominations must be submitted no later than Monday, Dec. 18, 2017. Final nomations must be submitted no later than Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018.
