The Rush Companies, based in Gig Harbor, is seeing momentum build on The Sidney Luxury Apartment Homes, a rental property nearing completion in Port Orchard.
According to a release from the firm, Rush Commercial has passed the baton to Rush Properties to oversee the leasing effort at the Sidney, which has been in full gear since July. The 105-residence Sidney — the first new multi-family apartment community to come to Port Orchard in more than a decade — is now 18 percent occupied and 25 percent leased, including pending leases.
“Current residents in Port Orchard are ready for ‘new’,” stated Matt Smith, president of Rush Properties. “Not only will residents be impressed by the quality finishes and spacious floor plans, but they will also benefit from the depth of community knowledge and standard of customer service that the management team provides.”
The complex itself is a small nod to Port Orchard's history, as the community was originally dubbed “Sidney” in 1886, after platter Frederick Stevens' father. Sidney was then incorporated in 1890 — the first town in Kitsap County to be platted and incorporated — and the town was officially renamed Port Orchard in 1903.
