A “sister marina” agreement has been signed in the Washington state capital by the Port of Olympia’s Swantown Marina & Boatworks and Shin-Nishinomiya Yacht Harbor.
Port of Olympia commissioner Bill McGregor said that the two marinas are agreeing to exchange information on the development of their services and operations, as well as to share knowledge and activities on environmental stewardship.
On hand for the signing were McGregor, Washington state Lt. Governor Brad Owen, Japan's Hyogo Prefecture governor Toshizo Ido and legislators, and Shin-Nishinomiya Yacht Harbor president Toshikazu Hayashi.
The sister marina friendship also marks the 50th anniversary of the “sister state” relationship between Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and Washington State.
