Four attorneys from family law firm McKinley Irvin's Pierce County practices have been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Marc Christianson and Laura Carlsen, who practice in Tacoma and Puyallup, were honored as 2013 Washington Super Lawyers. This year marks the eighth consecutive year that Christianson has been honored as such, while Carlsen is being recognized for the first time. Christianson was also named one of the top 100 Super Lawyers in Washington, a recognition he has received the past two years.

“It is truly an honor to receive this recognition and be included in the list of 2013 Super Lawyers among some of my most respected peers,” said Christianson. “I am proud to be a part of the McKinley Irvin family, where I am constantly learning from other attorneys and I am able to represent clients tenaciously, while providing a remarkable level of personal service.”

Jamie Walker and Anthony Zorich, McKinley Irvin family law associates who also practice in Tacoma and Puyallup, received the publication's 2013 Rising Stars designation. Carlsen was a previous recipient of the honor in 2012.

The Super Lawyer designation is given to lawyers who are nominated by peers and have attained an outstanding level of professional achievement. Attorneys selected to be Super Layers, based on independent research, peer reviews and committee reviews, represent the top five percent of lawyers practicing in Washington State. Additionally, attorneys honored as Rising Stars include candidates who are 40 years old or younger, or have been practice for 10 years or less. Less than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers to be included on the Rising Stars list.
