Mason General Hospital Foundation has chosen Barbara Dunbar, Deb Nielsen and Gretchen Schodde to receive its 2011 American Business Women’s Award. Dunbar has been the administrative, public affairs and human resources assistant at Green Diamond Resource Co. since 2002. Nielsen has served as the executive director of Mason County Homeless Shelter since 2005. Schodde is the founder and executive director of Harmony Hill Retreat Center.
Michael M. Nelson M.D. has joined Cascade Eye & Skin Centers‘ dermatology team. He specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology care. Nelson previously worked at Skagit Regional Clinics in Mount Vernon. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and earned his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. His research fellowship and dermatology residency were completed at Washington University in St. Louis. Nelson is board certified in dermatology and also is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Washington State Medical Association. Greg Parkhurst, Melanie Schaad and Rebecca Weeden, members of the event services staff at Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center, have graduated from the International Association of Venue Managers’ Public Assembly Facility Management program.
Judy Yucha, an environmental services technician at Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics, has been named “Employee of the Month” for July. She has worked at MGH for 10 years. Yucha’s work covers several departments, including intensive care, emergency, medical/surgical/pediatrics, and The Birth Center.
