Daily Biz Briefs is highlighting individual honorees from the 2013 “40 Under Forty” recognition program. In each of the next 15 editions, we will feature two from the class of 40 youthful leaders in the South Sound.

Sarah Cutting is a native Tacoman, who’s been back in town a couple years after exploring Europe and other parts of the world. A key contributor at Seasonal View LLC, a little-known tech consulting business, she has also been the leader of community blog Exit 133 for almost two years, providing a space for civic community dialogue. And Sarah is one-third of the organizing core for Tacoma Runners, even though she hasn’t yet run a marathon herself. She says a life lesson she has already learned is, “Sometimes, perfection isn’t necessary.”

From earlier employment with Pierce County’s American Cancer Society office, Kristi Stickland is now part of the Communications Department for Washington’s Health Benefit Exchange, the on-line marketplace for health care coverages under Obamacare implementation. The work is becoming intense approaching a October 1st start, but not yet as stressful as representing the region’s air traffic controllers union during a national scandal about some who were found sleeping on the job in other parts of the country. Kristi also recently completed her MBA at Pacific Lutheran University.

The public is invited to join in celebrating the 2013 class of “40 Under Forty” at an evening program outdoors at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium on Wednesday, Aug. 7, beginning at 6 p.m.  Details and ticket information are at this link.
