A trade publication has honored The Northwest Seaport Alliance for its commitment to sustainability.
Inbound Logistics magazine has named the group among its 75 Green Supply Chain Partners. The ports of Tacoma and Seattle have been honored individually for several years, but this is the first time the partnership through the NWSA has been recognized.
One of seven U.S. port authorities selected, the NWSA was recognized for its efforts to reduce seaport-related emissions through the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy and find innovative solutions to manage stormwater runoff.
The trade magazine honored 75 organizations from various trade sectors, including ports, trucking companies, railroads, shipping lines, freight forwarders and air cargo carriers.
This is “a carefully curated list of 75 companies that go above and beyond to ensure their global supply chains are sustainable, and that their operations are socially and environmentally friendly,” according to the magazine article’s introduction. “These companies have spent years developing and implementing best practices to ensure the footprint they leave on the world is a positive one.”
