Nineteen nonprofits got a valentine from Kitsap Bank today when the company made the surprise announcement of donating $15,000 to area organizations as part of its Making a Difference for our Community program.
For every hour that Kitsap Bank employees volunteered in 2017, the bank donated money to a nonprofit of their choice. In total, employees volunteered over 4,100 hours.
Among those benefiting from the bank’s contributions: Habitat of Tacoma/Pierce County and Habitat of Kitsap County; the Virginia Mason Foundation; the Humane Societies of Kitsap and the Olympic Peninsula; and Peninsula Behavioral Health.
“Kitsap Bank is proud of our tradition of community involvement, which spans more than a century,” said CEO Steve Politakis. “Our employees have done a tremendous job giving back. Their dedication, commitment and capacity to contribute not only makes them a great asset to Kitsap Bank, but also to our communities in which we live and work.”
