Leonard Faucher officially joined Port of Olympia today as the new marine terminal director.
Previously, he managed vessel and cargo operations at ship brokerage company Charles R. Weber Company Inc., in Greenwich, Conn. And before that, he was responsible for scheduling Hess Corporation's barging and shipping activities across 20 terminals in New York Harbor.
“Len has demonstrated impressive leadership in cargo, vessel and terminal operations, international marketing and contract negotiations,” said Ed Galligan, port executive director. “He has worked extensively with unions and has a history of activity in community groups as well as industry organizations.”
Faucher earned a B.S. in marine transportation from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, an MBA from University of New Hambshire and is currently working on a Ph.D. in business administration.
He's not a complete stranger to the Pacific Northwest, though. He also currently teaches business courses as an adjunct professor at St. Martin's University.
