Sabrina Grace has been named the new executive director of Lakewold Gardens, a 10-acre nonprofit estate garden in Lakewood.

Grace, who holds bachelor of science and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland, has served in several management and executive positions in New York, Germany, Spain and California. She takes over tomorrow, succeeding Stephanie Walsh, who served as executive director of the National Historic Landmark for the last 17 years.

“I look forward to working with the board and staff to preserve and enhance the estate and the grounds of Lakewold Gardens as it continues to offer the community a place to relax, distress, and connect with nature,” she said.

The site, which was opened officially in 1989, encompasses 10 acres of rare and native plants, including over 800 rhododendrons, and 30 Japanese maples.
