Pacific Lutheran University has announced the election of Ed Grogan to chair of the Board of Regents.
Grogan succeeds Gary Severson, who departs after 19 years on the board, including nine as chair. Grogan, a 1993 graduate of PLU and president of Summit Financial Group in Gig Harbor, WA, has served on the PLU board for four years, including two years as vice chair.
“PLU has played an important role in my life and I am honored and grateful to be giving back in some way,” Grogan said. “For me, being a part of a community means giving back along the way. We try to instill in our children the concept of abundance, and giving back is a reflection of that.”
Grogan has served on various non-profit boards in Pierce County for the past 14 years, including serving as chair of the board for Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and for the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation.
