The National Association of Women Business Owners NW is the U.S. Small Business Administration 2012 Washington Women in Business Champion of the Year.

NAWBONW builds strategic alliances, coalitions and affiliations to foster creative and effective changes in the business culture that impact women business owners.  Lori Gregg-Fernandez is the current president.

Access to capital is identified as the foremost problem for women owners. NAWBONW identifies lenders, invites them to the chapter meetings to present programs, provides information on what lenders require and how to prepare for financing, and helps to identify alternative forms of financing when applicable.

The chapter offers networking opportunities, entrepreneurial training and mentoring to strengthen the wealth-creating capacity of its members and woman business owners.  To influence opinion makers and to transform public policy, they organize roundtables with SBA regional and national leaders and Congressional representatives.
