The South Sound Tacoma SCORE Chapter has been recognized as a national platinum chapter at the SCORE national convention held in St Louis.
SCORE, a national free small business advisory service sponsored by the Small Business Administration, is staffed by volunteers with business experience. The South Sound Tacoma chapter maintains offices in Tacoma, Lacey, Lakewood and Gig Harbor.
Platinum recognition for SCORE chapters is a client-centered award, earned by the top 10 percent of more than 300 chapters across the country.
It’s been a busy year for Tacoma SCORE mentors, who provided more than 720 client mentoring hours locally and taught the Boots 2 Business starting entrepreneur course to more than 500 JBLM service men and women. Tacoma SCORE’s team of 30 mentors finished second in the nation, with “outstanding client engagement” as well as being selected as the Washington state district chapter of the year.
