The public is invited to learn about potential improvements to the ferry loading lanes at the Steilacoom Terminal during two upcoming community meetings.

The first meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 14 at Steilacoom Town Hall, 1717 Lafayette St. The potential changes also will be discussed during the regular meeting of the Anderson Island Citizens’ Advisory Board at 7 p.m. July 13 at the Anderson Island Community Clubhouse, 11319 Yoman Road.

There are three loading lanes along Union Avenue. Potential improvements to the lanes include adding a ticket booth between the loading lanes and increasing lane capacity by closing Lafayette Street west of Union Avenue.

Pierce County is in the process of reviewing potential improvements at this site. A final proposal, timeline and funding will be identified later.
