Officials from Mason County PUD 3 and Northwest Resources II have signed closing documents for the sale of the PUD’s former engineering building on a half-block site at the corner of Third and Grove Streets in downtown Shelton.

The sale price is $335,000. It includes the engineering building, an adjacent park/garden area, and access to on-site backup electricity generation.

The 8,400 square foot building was constructed in 1949. It was purchased and remodeled by the PUD in the 1980’s; an addition was built in 2000.

The facility will be used for Northwest Resources’ counseling services.

Mason County PUD 3’s engineering and administration buildings were made available after the completion of the Johns Prairie operations center in 2012. The PUD’s administrative and engineering functions were moved to the new facility (at 2621 E Johns Prairie Road).

John L. Scott Real Estate is acting as the commercial broker to market the PUD’s downtown Shelton properties. Scott Barnard is the broker for the project, representing the utility in advertising and marketing; proposing concepts to potential developers and investors; obtaining offers to buy property; and assisting with negotiating purchase and sale agreements.
