Sound Transit is continuing to report ridership growth on its trains and buses in second quarter. And watching the increasing gridlock on local freeways and streets, that cannot be a big surprise.
Tacoma Link ridership jumped 8.4 percent, due in large part to more special event trains running to accommodate concert attendees at Tacoma Dome.
Average weekday boardings on Sounder South line connecting Lakewood to downtown Seattle – through Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn and Kent – grew by about 500 riders per day, up to 15,346 from 14,854 in Q2 2016.
