This year’s Small Business Person of the Year has been named for every state, and Washington’s winner hails from the South Sound.

Rozanne Garman is president of Lacey’s RHD Enterprises, Inc., a minority- and woman-owned general contractor specializing in commercial, industrial and federal government construction. Garman has been no stranger to awards of late, garnering the Thurston County Chamber’s Boss of the Year award in December.

Garman has been invited to join the 49 other state-by-state winners to attend ceremonies in Washington D.C. on Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1. Each winner there will be honored with an individual award, and a 2017 National Small Business Person of the Year award will also be named.

“These small business owners define entrepreneurial spirit and best represent the 28 million small businesses that are the backbone and economic engine for today’s economy,” said Linda McMahon, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration. “I look forward to welcoming the winners to Washington next month when they are officially honored for their achievements.”
