KeyBank officials are attempting to streamline its Puget Sound operations by consolidating two of its Tacoma offices, in hopes of developing “a more cohesive team.”
KeyBank National Association is moving members of its Southern Puget Sound district from the KeyTower at 1119 Pacific Ave. to the adjacent KeyPlaza at 1101 Pacific Ave.
Among those affected by the move to KeyPlaza are Key’s Southern Puget Sound district president, marketing team and human resources department, among others, In all, some 70 employees will be involved in the move. Currently, KeyPlaza houses a number of Key business lines included private banking and investing, corporate banking and finance, and retail banking. No jobs are being cut in this transition.
As part of the streamlining process, Key will attempt to sell the KeyTower and maintain a single, centralized headquarters for its Tacoma operations in KeyPlaza. The KeyCenter branch, located in the lobby of the tower, will remain open. The move should be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2000.
