Kent businesses will see a small increase in their garbage bills on April 1, after the City of Kent approved a 0.45 percent hike in Republic Services’ rates.

The City’s contract with the waste management company allows for annual rate adjustments based on inflation.

The rates cover the cost of collection, as well as a disposal component which covers costs at the transfer stations and Cedar Hills Landfill.

The new rates are posted at the city’s website, KentWA.gov.
