Unemployment rates were mixed last month compared to February throughout the South Sound, according to the latest data from the state Employment Security Department.
Pierce County's jobless rate held steady during March at 9.8 percent. Unemployment in Mason County ticked down from 11.7 percent to 11.6 percent. Thurston County also experienced a slight decrease, from 8.5 percent during February to 8.4 percent during March.
Unemployment in Lewis County rose from 13.9 percent to 14.1 percent.
