Northwest Multiple Listing Service brokers are reporting increased traffic at residential open houses, crediting new online tools and a rebounding market for spurring the uptick.
“Recent reports, both nationally and locally, are signaling a recovering market,” observed Tom Hurdelbrink, president and CEO of NWMLS.
In the past few months, several brokerages, both large and small, have enhanced their Web sites, so consumers could access schedules and other information about area-wide public open houses from a single site.
Historically, brokers have listed only their own companies’ open houses on their office or agent sites to promote traffic to their own listings.
“It definitely enhances the customer experience when buyers can access open-house information in one place, rather than going to each brokerage’s Web site,” noted Dick Fulton, executive vice president of CBBain realty.
