Bay Area-based Infoblox, which acquired Tacoma cybersecurity company IID last year, has announced the expansion of its operation in the City of Destiny.
An all-day recruiting event today, with local city officials, including Mayor Marilyn Strickland and Community and Economic Development Director Ricardo Noguera in attendance, marked the announcement. In an effort to attract more talent from the Seattle-Tacoma area, the company will be doubling the employee count of its Tacoma office.
IID had 65 employees as of its acquisition by Infoblox in February 2016. Currently, there are 50 employees in Infoblox' South Sound office; the company plans to raise that headcount to 100. The recruiting process will include several on-site career fairs and attending the South Sound Tech Conference on Friday.
According to a statement from Infoblox' public relations team, the firm's current Tacoma contingent is heavily focused on cybersecurity research, threat intelligence and engineering. As Infoblox expands, there will be hires in additional functional areas such as sales, marketing, finance and product management.
Infoblox has been active in the South Sound since; in November, the firm announced a research partnership with the University of Washington Tacoma in an effort to combat DNS cybersecurity issues.
