Food delivery company Grubhub has announced an expansion of its delivery capabilities in Tacoma.

Grubhub has been active in Tacoma since 2011. Previously, however, Tacoma restaurants using Grubhub had to supply their own drivers to deliver; starting today, Grubhub Delivery will now provide drivers that can deliver from any Tacoma establishment, at any time.

A release from Grubhub described “Tacoma’s booming food scene” in marketing the service extension.

“We’re proud to give diners more restaurant choices than ever before, from their favorite restaurants across the City of Destiny,” said Carolyn Edwards, Grubhub’s Tacoma general manager. “We’re thrilled to deepen our partnerships with local Tacoma restaurants by offering Grubhub’s delivery capabilities. Now, restaurant partners can leave the last mile of delivery to Grubhub and focus on making the gourmet, local food that Tacoma residents crave.”

“As Grubhub Delivery continues to expand across the country, we could not be more excited to bring our capabilities to the beautiful city of Tacoma,” said Stan Chia, chief operating officer of Grubhub. “We're now able to provide a wider selection of the city's ever-growing restaurant scene for diners to enjoy — rain or shine.”
