Westport Marina at the Port of Grays Harbor is among the top in the nation for commercial seafood landings.
That's thanks to 108 million pounds of crab, salmon and other seafood fished at the marina, according to NOAA Fisheries Statistics for 2016. The honor was reported by the November edition of the Port's Around the Docks newsletter.
Westport also ranked 14th nationwide in value, with more than $59 million worth of product. More than 200 commercial fishing vessels are based at Westport, delivering seafood to five upland processors.
“We are extremely proud of our commercial fishing fleet and the hundreds of fishing and processing jobs they support in our region,” said Molly Bold, Westport Marina Business Manager. “We are committed to providing the infrastructure, facilities and services our fishing industry needs to thrive.”
