Green Diamond Resource Co., a fifth generation, family-owned forest products company traced back to the timberlands of Mason County, today announced the purchase of 600,000 acres in south-central Oregon.

With this acquisition from JWTR LLC of Klamath Falls, the company that is now headquartered in Seattle owns and manages more than 1.3 million acres of forests in Washington, Oregon and California.

“This acquisition reflects our confidence in timberland assets and our commitment to the future of the forest products industry,” said Douglas Reed, president of Green Diamond. “We have been careful forest stewards in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 125 years, and we look forward to continuing our long-term commitment to sustainable forestry in Oregon.”

Green Diamond’s Oregon assets will be managed from Klamath Falls. Its Washington / Northwest Timberlands Division is headquarters in Shelton.
