Deputy Mayor Pat Hulcey is beginning a second four-year term on the state Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board.

Fife City Manager Subir Mukerjee said the appointment is a big win for the city and Pierce County.

“Pat will serve the state well and we hope that with his voice, we can literally connect Pierce County to the rest of the state and increase our economic vitality,” Mukerjee said.

FMSIB proposes policies, projects, corridors and funding to the legislature to promote strategic investments to impact freight movement within local communities. Over the last decade, the board has awarded $200 million to projects throughout the state.
