City of Tacoma is soliciting volunteers to fill four out of seven seats on the Foss Waterway Development Authority Board. And it is seeking individuals with experience in finance, real estate development, law or construction management.

This critical advisory body has the responsibility to continue oversight on the emergence of downtown waterfront from its former underutilized, blighted area status to something resembling the vision of a lively space for living and commerce. The work has been on-going since 1996.

There are currently two unexpired terms and two three-year terms to be filled, according to a city news release. The mayor appoints persons to fill the positions, with the consent of Tacoma City Council. Board members need not be residents of Tacoma, but the majority of the panel must reside in Pierce County.

Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office by Friday, Oct. 18. Visit cityoftacoma.org/cbcapplication or contact Linnea Meredith at (253) 591-5178 at city hall.
