Mabel Edmonds, vice president for Instruction at Clover Park Technical College, has been appointed to the United Way of Pierce County’s Board of Directors.

In her role at Clover Park Technical College, Edmonds provides instructional leadership and oversees bachelor degree, professional technical, academic, transitional studies, continuing education and short-term training programs. In addition, she oversees workforce development grants and state allocations, special projects, the Northwest Career and Technical High School, and the Aviation Center at the college’s South Hill Campus. 

“Mabel brings tremendous experience and insights in adult education,” states Dona Ponepinto, president and CEO of United Way. “As we continue to grow our Center for Strong Families model, we want to ensure that job seekers are reaching educational attainment so they can get and keep good jobs in 21st century hiring industries. Her considerable skills and background are incredible assets for us to draw upon and as a long time United Way supporter, she has solid insights into our operations.”
