After 27 years in Seattle’s historic Georgetown neighborhood, coffee roaster and wholesaler Caffe D’Arte has announced that its headquarters will be moving to Federal Way next year.
The company, which employs nearly 60 workers, will relocate to 33926 Ave. S., currently occupied by parts fabrication company Orion Aerospace. Orion is expected to vacate the space in February after announcing a move to a new Auburn facility.
The Federal Way facility measures 35,000 square feet, roughly twice the size of Caffe D’Arte’s current Georgetown headquarters. Documents filed with the City of Federal Way reveal that Caffe D'Arte plans several changes to the building, including “a coffee bean roasting plant with up to five roasters and up to four smokestacks.”
An employee confirmed that Caffe D’Arte is targeting a June 2013 date to be fully operational at the new location.
Jeff Stock, principal owner of Caffe D’Arte, is a familiar name to Federal Way business observers. Stock is also owner of Omni Properties and is the former owner and current CEO of Wild Waves Theme Park.
