C-SPAN is coming to Tacoma next week to feature the history and nonfiction literature of the city.

The features will air on the cable network’s non-fiction book channel BookTV (on C-SPAN2) and history channel American History TV (on C-SPAN 3). C-SPAN is partnering with local Comcast offices in Pierce County as part of the 2017 C-SPAN Cities Tour, during which the network will visit 120 cities throughout America to film content for city-specific weekends later in the year.

During the visit, set for June 4-8, producers will visit various literary and historic sites, interview local historians, non-fiction authors and conduct education and community outreach in the area.

Segments recorded during the network’s Tacoma stop will air throughout C-SPAN’s Tacoma-themed weekend from Aug. 5-6.
