Daily Biz Briefs is highlighting individual honorees from the 2013 “40 Under Forty” recognition program. In each of the next 7 editions, we will feature two from the class of 40 youthful leaders in the South Sound.

One of those young leaders is Chris Gibeault, a state-certified general commercial real estate appraiser and consultant with Strickland, Heischman and Hoss Inc. in Tacoma. Gibeault is currently pursuing the MAI designation awarded by the Appraisal Institute, the most prestigious designation in the field. Perhaps as important and impressive, though, is Gibeault's long list of accomplishments in civic and community service, a track record that helped him earn the title of 2010-2011 Community Volunteer of the Year from the United Way of Pierce County.

Another honoree is Chris Inverso, who works for Columbia Bank in Kent managing a number of important customer relationships. Early on, though, Inverso was on the path to becoming a doctor, but, after working in a hospital setting for a couple of years, discovered a new direction and “stumbled into banking.” A guest speaker at one of his classes at the Milgard School of Banking turned him on to Columbia, the company he joined in 2010. His career, in his own words, “has taken off rapidly since that time.”

Join the public in celebrating these two honorees and the rest of the 2013 class of “40 Under Forty” at an evening program outdoors at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium on Wednesday, Aug. 7, beginning at 6 p.m.  Details and ticket information are at this link.
