For the third time, Orion Industries has been recognized as a Supplier of the Year by Boeing.
Specifically, the Auburn company, which seeks to empower those with barriers to employment such as learning disabilities and low income, earned the Global Supplier of the Year award in the Community Engagement category. Previously, Orion received Supplier of the Year designations from Boeing in 2011 in the Outside Manufacturing category and in 2015 in Corporate Citizenship.
The young year has already seen Orion receive acclaim from the aerospace giant. In January, Orion was also notified that it was one of 480 companies to receive the Boeing Performance Excellence Award —the seventh consecutive Boeing Performance Excellence Award that Orion has received.
“Boeing’s success is a testament to the partnerships we hold with the finest aerospace suppliers in the world such as Orion Industries,” said Kent Fisher, Boeing’s leader for enterprise Supplier Management. “Together we will continue to deliver affordable, technologically advanced products and services that give our customers a competitive edge.”
“Orion is honored to be a recipient of our third Boeing Supplier of the Year Award, and to be recognized as one of the top aerospace suppliers in the world. Orion has a long history of being a supplier to Boeing,” said John Theisen, Orion president and CEO. “This important partnership allows Orion to engage the community by providing a dynamic training platform for our training and employment services, which helps individuals with barriers to employment.”
