Personal notifications are going out today to 40 remarkable South Sound young persons who will comprise the 2014 Class of 40 Under Forty, the annual recognition event that highlights up-and-coming business and community leaders, produced by Business Examiner Media with the support of sponsors Heritage Bank, Comcast Business Services, Better Business Bureau and Lucky Eagle Casino.

From more than 75 original nominations and 59 completed information packets, two dozen 40 Under Forty alumni selected the next youthful individuals, who each is accomplishing remarkable things in their vocation and career field, within employers’ businesses or as entrepreneurs, leading local non-profit organizations or as a government manager.

Class of 2014 contains three bankers and the same number of attorneys, four honorees lead non-profits and a similar number hold positions of responsibility within local government units. Entrepreneurs and sole proprietor operators join 14 others who own, lead or contribute to private sector companies from South King County through Pierce and into Thurston counties.

As each is informed of selection to 40 Under Forty, they will be spotlighted here on Daily Biz Briefs over the coming weeks leading to the Aug. 19 recognition event to be held this year on the campus at Pacific Lutheran University.
