The Elevate Olympia Small Business Conference on June 11 and 12 is free to Thurston County businesses. Participants can choose to attend sessions in one or more of three different tracks: Marketing, Clean & Safe, and Business Acumen.

The Marketing tract, which takes place at the Heritage Room at 604 Water Street Southwest in Olympia, includes sessions on reaching customers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, merchandising and window displays, branding and storytelling, the basics of social media, and advanced social media and digital marketing.

The Clean & Safe tract takes place at the Annex at 106 5th Avenue Southeast in Olympia and features sessions on mental health and addiction, de-escalation of potentially volatile interpersonal interactions, a variety of city resources, and the public safety levy implementation.

The Business Acumen tract, located at the Water Street Cafe at 610 Water Street in Olympia, includes sessions on using effective time management systems, accessing capital, successful business planning, employee management, site selection, and Downtown Strategy implementation.

For a small fee up to $15, guests can also attend the evening program on June 11 during which former Mayor of Tacoma Marilyn Strickland will be the keynote speaker.
