Over 70 people attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Colonial Life in Lakewood on April 17. Both the Lakewood and Tacoma Chambers helped host the event.
The South Sound district office opened on Jan. 1, but moved to its current Lakewood location in early April. Currently, there are eight employees at the insurance company, and South Sound District Manager at Colonial Life, Eric Kantor, hopes to add more soon.
Colonial Life Agency Development Manager Randy Walden and Eric Kantor started the South Sound district office for Colonial Life together. Before opening Colonial Life, Walden owned Heartwarming Care, an in-home care agency for seniors out of University Place, for 13 years. Kantor has been in the insurance business for over 20 years.
“We’re feeling good about getting started and hiring more people.” Kantor said. “We’ve both been involved in the South Sound community for over 20 years and hope to carry that on in the future with Colonial Life.”
Colonial Life has been in business for over 75 years, and offers accident insurance, life insurance, and more.
