Applications are now open to receive public funding for local community arts projects. The City of Tacoma will award recipients between $1,000 and $5,000 to produce publicly accessible art in 2019.
In the past, funding has been used to support visual art workshops, music performances, film festivals, literary events, and other arts programming. The aim is to support endeavors with artistic merit, equity, and community impact.
In order to be eligible, the organization must operate within city limits and the event must be available to the public between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2019.
This competitive application process will result in varying funding for different projects based on availability of funds and application review.
For a full list of eligibility and application requirements, visit the City of Tacoma’s website.
Applications for funding must be submitted by Nov. 5 at 11:59 p.m. First time applicants are encouraged to attend a free workshop on Oct. 4 from 5:30-7 p.m. to help answer questions and navigate the application process.
