Tacoma-born Chuck Arnold has been named the new president of the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL team announced yesterday.
Arnold is replacing Peter McLoughlin, who according to the Seahawks, is leaving by mutual agreement.
“I have tremendous appreciation for this franchise and city, and I can’t wait to lead an organization that continues to make our community and the 12s proud,” Arnold said in a statement on the Seahawks’ website. “I am honored to assume this responsibility and thankful to Paul Allen for the opportunity.”
Arnold started his career with the Seahawks as an intern in 1993. After several promotions — to account executive in 1994, director of ticket operations in 1997, director of ticket sales in 2001, vice president of sales and marketing in 2010 — Arnold became the team’s chief operating officer in 2013.
In addition to managing all team business operations, Arnold will also serve as president of First & Goal, Inc., which oversees CenturyLink Field and WaMu Theater.
Chris McGowan has been promoted to CEO of Vulcan Sports & Entertainment (VSE), the company that manages the financial and business operations of Paul Allen’s sports-related interests, including the Seahawks, the Trail Blazers, CenturyLink Field, WaMu Theater, and Portland’s Moda Center.
McGowan is the current president and CEO of the Trail Blazers and will retain those positions, according to the Seahawks.
“Chris and Chuck have produced excellent results for their organizations for many years, and I know VSE and the Seahawks are in good hands under their leadership,” Allen said.
