Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) recently named Michael Catsi as the organization’s economic development manager.
Catsi arrives at TPU by way of Alaska, where he spent more than 15 years working for several economic development organizations. He was executive director of the Skagway Development Corporation and the Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference, and business development and communications director of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority.
He serves on the board of directors for the International Economic Development Council.
At TPU, Catsi is tasked with identifying improvement opportunities related to utility operations, and serving as the point of contact for regional economic development organizations.
TPU is a publicly-owned agency that was founded in 1893 and provides broadband, cable television, power, rail, and water services to the Tacoma-Pierce County region.
