Environmental engineering and construction firm, Brown and Caldwell, has expanded its South Puget Sound presence with a new office in Tacoma’s historic Brewery District.

“This new space reflects the commitment of our local and established team to positively impact the communities of the South Sound,” stated Brown and Caldwell’s Washington leader Tadd Giesbrecht of the new office at 2501 Fawcett Avenue.

The firm is based in Walnut Creek, Calif., but its history in the South Sound dates back more than 60 years, including the development of Tacoma’s first sewerage and drainage report in 1955.

In the decades since, it has provided planning, engineering, and construction solutions to the area’s water and environmental challenges related to nutrient removal, aging infrastructure, and population growth.

The firm has worked with Pierce County Public Works since the early 1990s, most recently leading the design and construction management of upgrades at the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
