The residents of Bonney Lake, Lake Tapps, and Enumclaw have been (not so) patiently awaiting the opening of the newest Costco Wholesale location, and the time has finally arrived.
This morning, the Bonney Lake community welcomed the $30 million membership warehouse located at 9801 204th Avenue East by purchasing a myriad of items in, well, bulk. The new store adds a level of convenience to residents who previously had to drive approximately 11 miles to the Puyallup location in South Hill or 14 miles to the Federal Way location on Enchanted Parkway.
To ease congestion approaching the new location, Ohio-based developer Visconsi Companies built a 204th road extension that punched through to State Route 410, and the city constructed a new traffic signal on 410 to accompany the new spur. The entrance off of 410 provides easy access to Costco fuel pumps.
In addition to the gas station, Costco members will enjoy many of the same specialty departments they are used to, including: deli, produce, meat, and bakery departments; an optical department with an independent optometrist; a pharmacy; tire center; and hearing aid center.
Moreover, this new location features automated ordering kiosks in the food courts which allow shoppers to avoid waiting in line to order and pay for their food. Instead, shoppers need only place their order at one of the many kiosks, and proceed to the pick-up window to grab their grub.
As part of the grand opening, new Costco members will get a $20 Costco cash card for executive membership or a $10 Costco cash card for Gold Star or Business members.
The Bonney Lake location is the 32nd Costco warehouse in Washington state, 520th in the United States, and 750th worldwide.
