Dr. Lin Zhou, president of Bates Technical College, has been named to the American Technical Education Association Board of Trustees, the college recently announced. Zhou fills a position previously occupied by Dr. Keith McClanahan of Ozarka College in Arkansas.
“I am excited to serve on this respected board,” Zhou said in a statement. “I look forward to contributing to this organization, whose mission is to advocate for technical education, and the professional development of those who work in the technical education industry.”
The ATEA is a non-affiliated organization that is committed to ensuring quality postsecondary technical education and providing professional development to teachers and others in the field.
Zhou’s term with the ATEA will expire in 2020. Now Bates Technical College’s first female president, she joined the staff as the dean of continuing education, apprenticeship and child studies in 2013. She has also served as dean of instruction, executive dean, and vice president of institutional effectiveness and student success.
