Bates Technical College is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, and shows little signs of slowing as it plans to open a new Center for Allied Health Education building in 2021 and is developing a new Fire Service Training Center.

The new Center for Allied Health Education building will be located at the downtown campus on Yakima Avenue. The project involves the demolition of a 1970s-era West Annex to make way for a modern learning facility that will house the college’s Allied Health programs, clinics, learning labs, and other student spaces. The Walsh Group and Bates Technical College broke ground on the $43.7 million project in 2019.

Also on the horizon is a Fire Service Training Center, which is currently in the pre-design phase. The new training center will enable the college to continue to offer fire service training in a larger, updated facility that accurately reflects the needs of the industry.
