The Tacoma-Pierce County Economic Development Board (EDB) recently announced the launch of a new grant program catering to small businesses in the county.
Starting Sept. 9, at 10 a.m., the Economic Development Board Vitality Grant program will begin accepting applications.
To be eligible for a grant, which amounts to $5,000, an applicant must be a Pierce Country-based small business owner, have 20 or fewer employees, and have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of $580,000 in CARES Act dollars have been allocated to this program, according to the EDB’s website. $90,250 is going to community organizations, with $490,000 available for small businesses through the $5,000 program grants.
